17 Mai Biker Jacket x Crop Top | Summer Vibes

Summer is finally here and the weather makes me so happy :) I have so much work to do at the moment, but I still tried to spend as much time outside as possible. Chilling in the park, working out outdoors, watching the sunset by the Alster – just perfect.

And it’s so nice to finally be able to put all those jackets and sweaters away and get the wardrobe ready for summer. I shot the pictures above after brunch at Elbgold and I didn’t expect it to be this warm, so I still wore my leather jacket just to be safe 😀 I really love khaki at the moment, it adds a bit of color to the usual black and grey. And the sweatpants vibe is great for cropped tops, because it makes the whole look a bit more casual (plus they are so comfy!).

Still in shock about how short my hair is, I always end up regretting cutting it, but I guess I’ll never learn xD

Anyhow, I just hope it’ll stay like this for the next few days, although the forecast says otherwise 😀 xoxo

03 Mrz Die nervigsten Instagram-Klischees|How to be basic on Instagram

The deep quote is the way to go.

2. Leute, die Sinn und Zweck eines Hashtags nicht begriffen haben und uns deswegen mit solchen Schätzen beglücken: #party #with #my #girls #last #night #we #had #so #much #fun etc.pp. Wer das Ganze richtig next level aufziehen will, würzt die englischen Tags noch mit ein paar dezenten Fehlern: #life #your #life – ähh, okay sure^^

_DSC4937-Bearbeitet

Who cares.

12. Leute, die ihr Bild mit  „no caption needed“ untertiteln – if you really think so maybe just don’t caption that shit, howbow dah?

13. In diesem Zusammenhang: Dear Meme Lords – I have nothing bad to say about you guys, please continue what you are doing…your work is bettering other people’s lives (or at least mine).

14. Das Car-Selfie. Wow, you’re in a car AND taking a selfie – your parents must be so proud.

15. Ich mag Instagram. Ehrlich.

Was sind eure absoluten Highlights in Sachen Instagram Klischees?

I’m having a major crush on velvet right now, and I’m basically living in this hoodie. It’s oversized, comfy and the color is just perfect. Kinda reminds me of the cloak Arwen is wearing in Lord of the Rings, so it’s the real deal for me xD         I was passing by this wall today and thought it would be the perfect backdrop for my outfit, so we shot this look really quickly and I quite like the results. I got the hoodie from New Look, because they were really sweet and send me a few of my favourite items…it’s still available and I linked it down below in case you wanna check it out.

Today is a really good day, because in the morning I booked a little trip and I’ll be going to Barcelona for a few days in April. I’ve never been, so I really can’t wait…we are going to stay in a super cool little hotel right in the city centre, so if you guys have any tips, recommendations, things I absolutely have to see or do, please let me know! I feel like I have never been stuck in one place for such a long time, but I guess it’s just from being fed up with the cold and rain.

I’ll be in the studio the next three days for work, so I won’t be able to study much – which means  I really have to get to it for the rest of today. Hope your having more fun than me! xoxo

Hey guys, I’m not dead (not today, Satan), I’ve just been really busy the last two weeks. The look above is from Monday when it was really sunny and nice outside…it almost felt like spring. I went to Tørnqvist for Coffee, it’s super small but really nice, with a big window front to enjoy the sunshine (if there is any) and beautiful minimal style interior. And of course, the coffee is really good (and so is the Cheesecake :D).

It was warm enough for me to only wear a velvet t-shirt with a light bomber jacket on top. Together with the suit pants and the sneakers it made for a casual yet put-together look. I’m not really the type for bright spring colors except for maybe an occasional dash of color from time to time, but I still think monochrome looks can look fresh and springlike too.

I tried to study a bit while being there, because on Tuesday I had another exam and now I have time until the 27th to study for the last three I’ll write in this semester. And essays and papers have to be written too and I had a lot of work from modeling too, so I’m really looking forward to the weekend. My apartment is pure chaos right now, so that needs to be taken care of…I get really anxious when I have to study and everything around me is a mess 😀

But before any of that I need to go through my emails and after that I’ll drop by my brother’s place because I haven’t seen him for the past few days. Have a great weekend! xoxo

25 Jan How to get great skin| My skin care secrets

Skin care isn’t easy, that at least can be said with some certainty. I’m pretty sure a lot of women would be willing to sell their soul to attain flawless, healthy-looking skin – but unfortunately it’s not that simple, so the skin care industry is stepping up their game by endlessly creating new products. And in this jungle of countless creams, serums, boosters and exfoliants there has to be this one product, that is just right and will finally be able to solve all our problems. So the research begins, and after reading up on everything that is to know one could probably start a career in chemistry….only that skin still looks kinda bad.

Or it might be even more ironic: I was always lucky with my skin and never really had to do anything. Being a model, having good skin is essential and maintaining a clear complexion between early call-times and catching flights can be tough. And being constantly bombarded with the overwhelming amount of different products, advertisements and other people’s excessive skin care routines didn’t help, so I began to think: „Maybe I should be doing more“ and thus began to throw money at a (non-existent) problem. And of course that felt good. Because in our society buying things is the equivalent of taking care of something or ourselves. Can’t manage to eat enough veggies? Not disciplined enough to make sure you’ll get enough sleep? No time to workout? Just buy some fancy looking supplements or this really expensive moisturizer and you’ll be good.

So it took me some time to realize that keeping things simple works best for me. And for our skin, the body’s largest and fastest growing organ, it’s much more important what we put into our bodies than what we might be putting on it. And of course there are vast differences in skin-types, influenced by genetics, hormones and other factors beyond our sphere of control. But nonetheless: To ace  certain basics will come a long way. Listed below are some tips as well as a few products that have been working great for me, so today I’ll be sharing them with you guys:

1. Drink tons of water

This one is so obvious and no one wants to hear about it anymore – I feel almost bad mentioning it, but it’s really really important. Get yourself an app that reminds you to drink enough, make your water less plain by adding some berries, whatever you do, just make sure you stay hydrated.

2. Eat your (dark) leafy greens

This is where I’m slacking quite often, but that doesn’t make it less true. Spinach, kale, swiss chard – these are all packed with vitamins, iron, micronutrients (read: things that your skin needs to look amazing) – blend them, juice them, whatever you do, just eat that stuff.

3. Dry brushing

This is my morning ritual. I’m sure there is a whole branch of science built around it, but it’s pretty straight-forward. Take a brush and brush your skin. It will not only wake you up good, but it will also:

  • exfoliate your skin
  • increase blood-circulation
  • stimulate the lymphatic-system and helping your body to detox
  • make your skin really smooth and soft
  • prevent or reduce cellulite
  • relieve stress

I have been doing this for quite some time and it’s so good. Make sure your brush isn’t too soft and don’t be scared that you will damage your skin ( this does not necessarily apply to skin conditions such as eczemas or neurodermatitis – I have no personal experience with these, so you might wanna double-check).

4. Cleanse & keep it cool

Always make sure to remove any make-up and to clean your skin before going to bed. Use lukewarm water – hot water might irritate your skin and cause a bunch of problems (the same goes for taking a shower. I love a long hot shower but for the sake of my skin I try to keep a moderate temperature).

I use white kaolin powder for cleansing. It’s vegan and cruelty-free, which is a must for me. It is a bit messy, but so mild and soothing.

5. Leave your skin alone

Some occasions just call for a full face of make-up, but I try to leave my skin alone as much as possible. When I want to do something, I use a bit of concealer to cover up under-eye circles but I skip foundation, primers and all of that. I use the same approach when it comes to skin care products. It may sound a bit extreme, but I never use body lotion, because my skin is perfectly fine without it. My facial skin tends to be a bit dry from time to time, so every couple of days I use a bit of moisturizer and that’s it. My moisturizer is from Paula’s Choice and contains coconut oil and shea butter.

6. Make sure you get enough sleep

Sleeping enough is key – it’s called „beauty sleep“ for a reason. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Just give your body the chance to take care of itself instead of spending hours to exfoliate and prime.

7. Work out

Regular exercise definitely helps the skin to look better. Getting your heart-rate going and working up a sweat will work wonders for your skin.

8. Stay away from dairy

This might not apply to everyone, but for me dairy is an absolute devil when it comes to complexion and even though I love myself a pint of Ben&Jerry’s every once in while, cutting milk, cheese and cream out of my diet works wonders. So if you have very persistent problems with your skin, staying away from dairy for a few months might be worth a shot. Not to mention that dairy cows would certainly appreciate it.

9. Keep your fingers away from your face

Pretty much self-explanatory. Wash your hands or disinfect them, before you touch your face. Punch others when they touch your face..jk.

And that’s pretty much it. On the picture below you can see my skin care favorites and I’ll link them in case you want to give them a try. xoxo

Soo, I’ve been binge-watching this really cool TV-Show last week and it has clearly affected my choice of clothes lately. The show is called Atlanta, is set in Atlanta (didn’t see that one coming, did you) and it’s all about the rap scene. Really funny, fresh and not the usual run-of-the-mill stuff. Can’t take any credit for finding it though, my older brother told me about it (thanks again!).

But at least the outfit is all mine. We went for coffee & bagels on Sunday and went to Stockholm Espresso Club eventually (we tried Elbgold first, but that place was so packed) – but it was really nice! I wore high-top sneakers from Supra, Jeans from Levi’s and an old cape-sweater from ASOS. The bomber is from Motel, I got it via NA-KD and it’s on sale right now, so if you’re in a shopping mood, go and get it, I’ll link it down below. The Nike snapback is from the kids section, the regular ones are always way too huge for me (plus this one is only like 15 quid).

I’m so happy with the weather these past few days, so much sunshine. Today I had to get up at 5am to go to castings in Berlin, but it’s not even that bad on such a beautiful day. And the funniest thing happened on the train ride, because I bumped into a friend that I met in Milan and haven’t seen in forever. She was going to work   too, so we didn’t have much time to talk, but I’ll see her for coffee next week. This is one thing that I really love about modeling: You make friends all over the world and then suddenly meet them again and there is always so much catching up to do.

Oh and here’s another thing for everyone living in Hamburg: Two friends and I are hosting a flea-market on the 10th of February – we made a Facebook event, so you can check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/events/150988248729846/

You can not only shop clothes, shoes and accessories, but there’ll be fancy drinks and music too, so grab your girlfriends and come by!

09 Jan My Top 20 |Favorite workout tracks

img_0037-1

If you’re anything like me, music is an absolute workout essential. It’s a great way to motivate yourself before and during the workout and can really help to push some boundaries. If possible, I try to listen to my own music instead of the music playing in the gym (because unfortunately there are so many people with bad different taste in music) It just helps me to zone out and to focus only on the task at hand – after all, there is nothing like a good track to help to get you through those final reps or  finish out the last meters of your run, so I wanted to share some of my favorites with you today.

I don’t stick to any particular genre when it comes to workout music, but generally speaking, savage tracks work best for me. There are some of my favorites below…I usually play them on shuffle, so there is no particular order  and it’s a wild mix of Hip-Hop, electro etc.

If you click on the title, you can get a listen of the song on Youtube (if I could find them on there) and you can get all the tracks on Spotify.

1. Snorkle – Opiuo

2. King Kunta – Kendrick Lamar

3. Black Beatles – Rae Sremmurd feat. Gucci Mane

4. Bird Brain (Valentino Khan Remix) – Bro Safari

5. Bangarang (feat. Sirah) – Skrillex

6. Project Ghost – Must Die!

7. Jungle Bae (feat. Bunji Garlin) – Skrillex and Diplo present Jack Ü

8. Stadium Pow Wow – A Tribe Called Red

9. Gold Digger ft. Jamie Foxx – Kanye West

10. RA – Slumberjack

11. Divide & Conquer – What So Not

12. F**kin Problems (feat. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar) – A$AP Rocky

13. Thursty – Bassnectar

14. Boss Mode – Knife Party

15. I Do Coke – Kill The Noise & Feed Me

16. ‚Till I Collapse – Eminem

17. Epic (Original Mix) – Sandro Silva & Quintino

18. Someone Else (Spenda C Remix) – Antiheros

19. Collared Greens (feat. Kendrick Lamar) – SchoolBoy Q

20. Say My Name (feat. Zyra) – ODESZA

img_0370-1

Unfortunately, I cannot do anything in moderation, so if I really like a track, I’ll blast that shit on repeat until it’s almost ruined. Which means I’m always looking for new music, so if you like, leave me your favorite track in the comments or drop me a message!

I’ll turn on something a little bit more relaxed now and get to work. I need to study (as always) and I’m planning a little event with two friends of mine for next month – so if you live in Hamburg, save the date (10th of February)! xoxo

13 Dez 25 random facts about me

03-10

Today’s blogpost will be something different and a little bit more personal. I came across a tag on Instagram yesterday that calls for 25 random facts about the person posting it – apparently this was quite popular throughout the bloggersphere (is this a word?), but since my blog is pretty new I have been oblivious to this trend. Long story short, if you want to get to know a little more beyond outfit posts and vacation pics, keep on reading.

1. I’m allergic to avocado. Any breakfast/brunch-themed foodporn involving avocado is totally lost on me. Real shame, because few things are more photogenic than avocado when it comes to food.

2. I can read really fast. My parents probably lost a fortune to keep a steady stream of new books coming my way when I was a kid.

3. I am such a foodie. I am either eating, talking about food or thinking about what to eat next. Not kidding.

4. I love watching documentaries, especially ones involving morbid topics like the Black Death, anything from the Middle Ages, parasites and other delightful things.

5. I don’t have a TV connection and consequently can’t keep up with the daily struggles of celebrities, royalty or other persons of interest, which means I’m totally lost in conversations about these people. I consider this a virtue though.

6. I wear size 4 shoes (UK sizes) and love it, because I can buy from the kids-section from time to time and make a steal.

7. I hate IKEA. With a passion. Like I won’t ever go there unless I absolutely have to.

8. I watch make-up-tutorials on Youtube, knowing that I will never apply what I’m told there. I just find it calming to watch.

9. I’m a list maker. I make and keep lists for a lot of things.

10. I have a thing for numbers and I have quite a few favorite numbers, so for example when planning something important I like the date to involve as many favorite numbers as possible, and if the digit sum is a favorite number as well, I’m happy.

11. I hate being on the phone (as in old-fashioned, actually talking on the phone), it’s too much pressure. Plus, it’s 2016 – who uses their phone for that?

12. I have really good memory and can even recall minor details for a very long time.

13. I love the window seat and will go to some length to get it. Aisle seats on a plane or train are just not for me.

14. I talk too fast.

Ich spreche immer viel zu schnell.

15. I hate ginger – the taste, the smell, everything. I will still drink ginger-tea, when I’m sick.

16. I am really picky when it comes to sweets and normally I only eat the fancy-schmancy organic stuff, but  I have a soft spot for three really bad things:

  • chocolate santa from After Eight
  • Haribo Phantasia
  • funny-frisch potato chips

  • Schokoweihnachtsmänner von After Eight
  • Haribo Phantasia
  • Kartoffelchips von funny frisch (aber nur ungarisch)

17. I’m allergic to penicillin.

Ich habe eine Penicillin-Allergie.

18. I don’t like licorice – at all.

19. I have never broken a bone.

Ich habe mir noch nie etwas gebrochen.

20. I love watching horror-movies alone late at night. If it’s a good one, I will lie in bed afterwards afraid to go to sleep.

21. „Overheard LA“ is one of my favorite Instagram pages and I can relate to so many things that it kinda makes me wanna move to LA sometimes.

22. I have no piercings and no tattoos. I lowkey want to get a tattoo, but I couldn’t come up with the perfect idea yet, so I’m not going through with it.

23. My handwriting is a nightmare. I never had one of these pretty girly handwritings and I regularly got hate from my teachers in school, because they had a hard time deciphering my hieroglyphs. In exams I really try to pay attention to not piss off my correctors, but law exams aren’t exactly known for being generous on time, so you can imagine how well this is going.

24. I love music, but when someone asks me what I like listening to, I go blank and can’t name a single artist or track.

25. I have zero educational skill, so I’m the worst when it comes to explaining things. This combined with my impatience should make me the last person you’ll ask for instructions on how to do anything.

That’s it. Maybe you could relate at some points, or have a little laugh at others 😉 Also, I’m curious: what are the most peculiar facts about you?

I have been getting a lot of questions about my diet lately – eating habits, daily calorie intake, low carb, clean eating or IIFYM – so I decided to do a post on that topic.

First of all, I don’t follow a particular path or any other strict regimen when it comes to eating. I use vegan milk instead of dairy, but I’m not a vegan. I try to reduce processed foods, but I’m not paleo. I never count my calories and I’m not scared by carbs or fat. I don’t think a calorie is a calorie, so it does make a difference whether you chew on a handful of nuts or eat a toast. I read the list of ingredients before I buy stuff (this seems pretty straightforward, but a lot of people don’t do it) and I eat organic. When I feel like eating something, I usually do it. When I want to eat, because I’m bored or need a motivational snack to help me study, I try and eat healthy stuff.

Overall, I try to apply a pretty simple rule: roughly 80% of what I eat is real, healthy food and 20% can be crap (more or less at least, but I’ll talk about that later). This isn’t exactly rocket science, but it does help me to make wholesome choices most of the time, while maintaining a balanced and healthy relationship with food.
Here is what I typically eat in a day ( I chose today as an example):
Breakfast
Breakfast may vary, depending on the time I have to get up. If I have to be at uni at 8:30 I usually just grab a piece of fruit and eat proper breakfast a bit later. When I don’t have to hurry, I eat my regular breakfast right away. Today I had quinoa and spelt chocolate cereal with unsweetened almond milk. I usually top it up a bit with chia seeds, cocoa nibs or something like that.
Lunch
For lunch I had green salad with chickpeas and crumbled feta-cheese, oven-roasted pumpkin and quinoa burger.
Dinner
Dinner will be mixed raw veggies (broccoli, bell pepper and carrot)and pasta.
Snacks
My favourite snack at the moment are tangerines or a banana with hazelnut butter. Today I had both, plus a protein shake and a bagel with cream cheese.
Treats
About 40gr of dark chocolate (85% cocoa), two cappuccini and two pieces of milk chocolate. Chocolate covered coconut bites (similar to Bounty but way better). I definitely see a pattern here #chocolate
I think today was a pretty healthy day. I don’t usually do the cheat-day thing, because I kinda need at least a little treat everyday. But of course on occasion I’ll have junk food throughout the day and as long as its an exception to the rule, that’s okay.

Here are some other things that I think might be helpful to achieve a more healthy diet:
1. I always drink water. I struggle to drink enough of it, because I tend to forget, but I never drink soft-drinks (this includes coke-light or zero or anything of the kind), juices or any other sweetened beverage. I like coffee, but I don’t own a coffee-machine, so I don’t have it on an everyday-basis and if I drink juice, it’s freshly-squeezed and includes at least some veggies as well. Other than that it’s just plain water and unsweetened tea.
2. I never eat the really nasty stuff. I’d rather go hungry than to eat at McDonalds, Burger King, KFC & Co. Most of all for ethical reasons, but also because I find it disgusting, grossly over-priced (considering the nutritional value) and because I think that our day-to-day choices shape the world we live in, so I won’t be funneling any money to Big Food/Big Ag.
So if I want to have a burger I go somewhere where they use high-quality ingredients (Brooklyn Burger Bar is my favourite here in Hamburg) – not only does it taste a lot better, but it won’t wreak havoc on my body either. Same goes for any sweets – the regular stuff from the supermarket has so much sugar that I can’t taste much else, so I opt for something a bit more clean.
3. I buy organic. It’s more expensive than regular produce and especially any animal product will cost a lot more, but this is really important to me,  from an ethical perspective as well as for nutritional reasons. I don’t think anyone is entitled to eat meat galore three times a day (or any meat for that matter)  and with me it’s definitely quality over quantity. I almost never have to throw food away (which I hate doing), because I think about what to buy and how to use it in advance.
4. If I have to travel somewhere and there won’t be any healthy options available, I try and prep my meals in advance or at least pack a healthy snack that will get me through the day. This is a good way to make sure you’re not ending up at a fast-food joint, because you’re starving and can’t make sound decisions anymore.

So, no big secrets or anything. Just try and listen to your body, eat good, wholesome and nutritious foods, drink plenty of water and you should be fine. xoxo

Yay, it’s Monday – again. But the sun is shining, I got to sleep in a little and a beautiful day lies ahead, so what’s not to like? My weekend was pretty busy, I flew to Zurich early on Friday and went directly to the studio for a fitness/sporty -themed shoot. The team was great and I had a lot of fun working that day. Above are some pictures from behind the scenes – normally, I don’t take so many selfies on set, but I loved the styles so much and wanted to get some of the items for myself, so I took a gazillion pictures. A lot of the clothes came from Onzie, which is a really cool brand for cute workout wear. I already checked out their online shop and since I needed new gym clothes anyway I might have gotten a few things.

The next day I had another shoot, that was really fun as well. I couldn’t take any pictures though, but I’m excited for the final results already. I finished quite early and had a lot of time to kill at the airport before going home, but with all the Black-Friday-Sales still ongoing that wasn’t so hard to do. Afterwards I lounged at Starbucks and studied for a while – I had already used up all my free WiFi and eventually my phone died, so I had zero distraction, which is always good when it comes to studying.

Sunday was super chill, I slept in AND took a nap later during the day…the ultimate luxury, I guess. And before going to bed I watched the third episode of Planet Earth II. I love this documentation so much, I’m literally like a 5-year old when watching it…I just can’t get over how beautiful and amazing all these animals are and it’s more exciting than most movies, really.

Hope you guys had a great weekend! xoxo
